Why You'll Love It
This
buildable wooded tract in the Ozark Mountains with county road access has
electricity and city water available. Modest restrictions protect your
investment. It is centrally located between the canoeing destination site of
the Buffalo National River and the White River (for world class trout fishing
making it ideal for putting in an RV site and using for a base camp. This property is on the Ozark Mountain Plateau
and sits near the 1,100-foot elevation line about 1/10th mile off a
paved road. It is 9 miles into Yellville where you will find restaurants,
schools, grocery stores, doctor’s offices and more. Turn south and you will be on
the Buffalo National River in 7 miles. There are thousands of acres of public
land nearby for additional hunting and hiking opportunities. Come to Arkansas
and experience an “oxygen rich atmosphere” where the heavily wooded land
converts CO2 to oxygen and see if it makes you feel better. Cash or bank financing.
During a 26 year career as an engineering officer in the US Merchant Marine I had opportunity to visit 53 countries and many of the contiguous United States plus Hawaii and Alaska. I did not find any place that I would prefer to live year around more than these Ozark hills here in Marion County Arkansas. Let me show you some land while I tell you about the rivers and lakes as well as the cavern systems and thousands of acres of public forest for hiking and exploring.
I like the four seasons we have and what each new season has to share like wild mushroom gathering in spring and especially fall, a variety of hunting and fishing experiences, and gardening. My wife and I are avid gardeners (met as vendors at Yellville’s own farmer’s market) and grow most of our meat as well. We take satisfaction in knowing we have access to healthy food and practice living close to the land by canning and drying a lot of our surplus vegetables and even meat. We supplement the food we raise from the abundant variety of game and fish found here through hunting, fishing and wild harvesting.
I am a graduate of the Arkansas Master Naturalist program and have a fascination for the rocks and minerals here as well as the flora and fauna. It is hard to beat an afternoon wading up one of the many clear, gravel or rock bottomed creeks in the area looking to see what is under the next rock or in the next deep pool or growing alongside the cool water.
I built my own house here in 1996 and live in it now. I lived off the grid for 3 years and have an interest in things pertaining to alternative energy.
Let me show you some houses or just raw land and share my knowledge of the area and my love for it. You will see why this is where I set roots over 25 years ago and have raised my children here.
